The Climate Change Adaptation Mission focuses on supporting EU regions, cities, and local authorities to build resilience against the impacts of climate change. The mission aims to support at least 150 European regions and communities on climate resilience by 2030.
The mission will contribute to the implementation of the EU's climate change adaptation strategy by assisting regions in the following areas:
• Understanding current and future climate-induced risks,
• Helping regions develop their own ways to better prepare for and devise solutions to changing climate conditions,
• Testing and implementing innovative solutions needed to build resilience.
To achieve the mission's objectives, the European Commission will support 9 topics as part of the 2024 Call.
